How to Choose Extensions that Work for You
HaloCouture Extensions
Tape in, braid, weave, bead, glue, wire, the list goes on and on for the options of hair extensions. So how do you know what is the right fit for you? To help you understand the selection for extensions let’s follow the extension story of Salon Suites’ VP of Sales and Marketing, Sherry, and her journey to HaloCouture Tape Ins with salon owner Tiffany Penley.
Sherry had used extensions since her early 20’s and loved the full and glamorous look that they provide, but they came with a price. This price was the overall health of her hair. She had multiple styles and techniques applied to help combat the toll that extensions were taking on her hair, but it was to no avail.
Braid and weave extensions create a lot of tension on the hair and therefore can cause the hair to break and fall out. The hair is braided into tight corn rows and the extension is the weaved or sewn into the row. The corn row itself adds a lot of pressure to the scalp and follicle and this pressure stresses the follicle and leads to pre-mature hair loss and can be exacerbated by activity and sleeping that can pull at the weave or braid. Beaded extensions or sometimes referred to has loop extensions are applied by looping the hair through the extension and then clamping it in place with a metal bead. The bead is secured with heat and the heat is quite damaging and cause the hair to burn and break. Glue extensions are applied well with glue, glue and heat to be precise. The glue is usually a keratin type base and heat is applied to the extension and hair. Glue extensions require some of the most upkeep and the glue is sensitive to other products as they make break the bond of the adhesive.
HaloCouture offers two basic types of extensions. The Original Halo wire extension and HaloCouture Tape Ins. The wire seen below offers the beauty of Remi hair, outstanding quality human hair, without any damage to the hair.
HaloCouture Tape In extensions are still the quality that many of come to know and love from HaloCouture with 100% Remy Hair. Tape In extensions are applied on either side your own hair and sealed in a sandwich. No heat is required and the tension is minimal and distributed through a larger section of hair. HaloCouture Tape Ins are offered in 23 colors and 3 lengths, 12 inches, 16 inches, and 20 inches.
After damaging her hair for many years with other extension products and techniques, Sherry was over joyed to learn she could have the glamour she always loved from having extensions without any damage. She began using the Original Halo Extensions with the Miracle Wire and thanks to stopping the damage and using Monat she has been able to repair the damage left behind from other extensions.
Now that her hair strength and vitality has been renewed with the Original Halo Extensions and Monat, Sherry had decided it was time to move on to the permanent ease of Halo Tape In extensions. Tiffany Penley of Bravado Salon at Salon Suites Bazaar 280 is a hair guru and put in Sherry’s Halo Tape In extensions. Tiffany used three different colors and brick laid them to add dimension and help blend them into the color she applied to Sherry’s hair. Each pack of Halo’s tape ins has 20 individual tapes (10 sandwiches). Two to three packs of differing colors are enough to achieve a full and dimensional look with several tapes left over for your next appointment.
