In the Spotlight – Stephanie Lorino
Stephanie Lorino Salon was established at Salon Suites, Colonnade, in September 2014. After a desire for change, Stephanie made the move and hasn’t looked back.
“I was ready for a more personal atmosphere. Low key and self sufficient.”
But what is even better is that her clients haven’t looked back either. “Oh they love it. Oh my gosh they love it. Its never boring. There is such a good energy {at Salon Suites}. People love the privacy.”
Starting her beauty education at the tender age of 15, Stephanie has made it a priority to stay in touch with youth culture and keep in line with the latest trends. Her inspirations can be found in music and fashion and currently she is obsessing with pop beauty icons Lady Gaga and Gwen Steffani. Her training includes Toni and Guy and Loreal and everything in between.
“I take any education I can get. Its really high on my priorities to continue learning and growing. I love doing everything, but I have the most fun doing color transformations.”
Sitting with Stephanie gives you energy and is a revitalizing experience in and of itself but when she talks about her heart and start in the beauty industry it is a serious and touching moment. “One of my first memories of beauty in general is sitting on the bathroom floor and watching my mom color her hair. Im so, so, so blessed…Certain things come easy to certain people and this came easy to me. There are plenty of other things that didn’t but this did.” Her passion for her career is almost palpable.
For fun Stephanie hits the gym. But not just any gym. She does Crossfit. Of course she does! Stephanie doesn’t do anything half way. Then she drops that she has another hobby, she cooks. Anybody else willing to bet that is amazing, too! This girl is unstoppable! With our mind thinking of all the goodies that she could be making for the next Salon Suites party…she leaves us beauty nugget…“If you have normal to damaged hair, forget conditioner and always use a mask and always leave it on in the shower.” To be honest I am sure there was more of a pause between her cooking hobby and the beauty tip but this interview happened just after a less than fulfilling lunch so the cooking lingered in the brain like a slow motion Food Network show.
