Oh Snap! What the Snap Inc. Change Means for Your Salon
Snapchat Becomes Snap Inc.
It seems in this day and age of technology as soon as you get a social media platform figured out they go and change it. One of the latest changes does not affect the platform much just yet, but we are willing to bet that big things are coming. Here at Salon Suites of Alabama, we know that staying up to date on the latest technology changes is important for our salon owners. That is why we have broken down what the Snap Inc. name change means for your salon.
What does the Snapchat Change Means for Your Business
“What’s in a name?” Snap Inc. will still function the way users know and love. That means all the filters and behind the scenes videos you have come to love will still be there. You will still be able to share the magic that happens in your chair. As of now, the name change will not affect the way you use Snap for business.
Snapchat vs Snap Inc.
The reason that Snapchat changed its name to Snap Inc. is because they have outgrown the original use. As their vision grows and their business expands the name Snapchat must have felt limiting. It no longer represented their brand properly. They are no longer just one thing but have multiple products (i.e. Stories, Memories, Spectacles, etc.). Snap Inc. now allows them to further expand their vision and better represents the company they are becoming.
What You Can Learn From the Snapchat Name Change
What can you take away from the name change? If your name or brand no longer fully represents you as a beauty professional don’t be afraid to change. If your business has expanded and you offer more services, make sure your name and brand represents who and what your business currently is and what it aims to be. For instance, if you started off in one of our luxury single suites and only provided hair services, but now have expanded into a double suite with another beauty professional and now your salon offers brow shaping, hair services, and makeup artistry, then your original name of Maggie’s Hair Studio may not fit and describe your business properly. This may not offer clients and potential clients the full impact of what to expect or schedule at your salon. Maggie’s Beauty Bar may give a more accurate description of the salon and what clients can expect.
