Dorothy is one of Salon Suites newest salon owners! She is now open at Salon Suites Trussville in the Pinnacle – Tutwiler Farms. It is very fitting that she has a little spotlight put on her since her salon name is Red Carpet Look! We would love for you to get to know Dorothy in her In the Spotlight moment.

Originally Dorothy had wanted to be a lawyer, but she was looking for a career that afforded more flexibility to take care of her son. Her mother was a nurse but before becoming a nurse she had done hair. Her mother was always a care giver and both careers allow compassion and caring for others. Dorothy received her mother’s nurturing spirit and saw hair as a wonderful opportunity to care for others as well as her son.

Deciding to Make the Move Into Salon Ownership with Salon Suites

Dorothy has been in the beauty industry since 1996. She has been at corporate salons and traditional booth rent, but never has she been able to be her own boss, until now. Encouraged by her husband and clients, Dorothy is now the proud owner of her very own salon. In fact, many of her clients remarked, “About time.” and, “What took you so long.” upon hearing the news.

Dorothy named her salon Red Carpet Look because of the feeling she wants every client to leave with. Every client is a celebrity and should feel good about themselves and the way they look.

She specializes in formal, weddings, and extensions. But she believes even a trim and time in her chair can make every client feel like a celebrity. She loves how the beauty industry is constantly evolving and changing and soaks up all the developments so that she can pamper each client.
