Hannah McCay of Shae & Co. at Salon Suites Bazaar 280 is, In the Spotlight

We can hardly believe it has been a year since Hannah McCay opened her very own salon at Salon Suites Bazaar 280! In celebration of her one year anniversary, it’s time for her to shine, In the Spotlight. Wink, wink, see what we did there.

Hannah blends a bubbly, outgoing personality and laid back vibes with ease. Her overall goal is for her guests to feel welcomed and comfortable in her chair, and after just a few minutes with Hannah it is easy to see how she easily achieves this goal. Southern charm is something Hannah has in spades. Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama she enjoyed the outdoors with bonfires and lake days. She has a personal style she would describe as “rustic glam”.

Why Beauty 

The beauty industry spoke to her because it enables her to make people feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside. Being a hairstylist allows her to express herself creatively, while helping clients achieve their desired look. Clients also benefit from Hannah’s caring heart and listening ear.  She takes what her clients share with her personally, and has been known to laugh with them as well as cry. She gains her personal strength from the Lord as well as her mother. She says her mother has always inspired her due to her fortitude in adversity. Her mother has been through a lot in life and has always been able to come out the other side better, brighter, and stronger.

Why Salon Suites 

Hannah made the move to Salon Suites early in her career, because it allowed her the freedom to set her own hours and still enjoy everyday life. She attended Paul Mitchell The School – Birmingham and loved exploring all that the beauty world had to offer. Her teachers challenged her to push herself and expand her horizons, and this is something she still enjoys doing. 3 days after graduating from cosmetology school she was able to start at a traditional salon in Birmingham.  Two years later, Hannah discovered Salon Suites; this concept really resonated with her. She has enjoyed the freedom to customize her schedule to meet her client’s needs, while creating time to finish complete her bachelors of science in business.

Many of Hannah’s clients had not heard of the individual suite rental concept before, but after they came to Hannah’s new salon they were in love. They love the privacy and intimacy and feel that the suite has an overall peaceful atmosphere. This privacy allows them to open up and speak honestly about their beauty needs and personal life.

Hannah’s Products, Monat

Hannah offers Monat in her salon and loves being able to provide her clients with a naturally based hair care system, that gives longer, stronger, fuller hair. Set Apart

Although she loves many different techniques and trends, Hannah is loving the balayage trend in hair coloring. It is fun, pretty of course, and easy for the client to keep up. She also is loving the matte makeup look, even though it can be a little hard to conquer in the Alabama heat. And for cuts, she loves cuts of all kinds, but texture is her favorite. Especially in the South, we love texture and volume and Hannah has great tricks up her sleeve to add volume.
